With a premise that promises to deliver some outrageous material, based on this very publication's loyal and outspoken readers, Letters to the Editor is a brilliant concept from four remarkable improv talents.
The whole show is centred around a letter in The Advertiser's reader opinion section, chosen by the crowd. With a looming election, the standard of letters at the moment is an improv troupe's dream - brimming with spicy takes on the local political climate and the government's handling of the pandemic.
On this night, a wild tale of mushroom people, sheltered children and a terrifying glimpse into a lie-free society took some time to get going, but once the performers were off, the rattling train of narrative had the audience in stitches.
Sure, there were a few forgotten names and breaks of character, not to mention more plot holes than a wedge of Swiss cheese, but watching these four impressive comedic actors scramble to concoct a cohesive story was just so much fun.
It's a great choice for lovers of left-field comedy.
